I have truly enjoyed my visits each and every time. I have endured some tricky weather patterns and situations there, and enjoyed gettting the bragging rightss to say I endured them and kept on camping! Black Rock is a beautiful treasure nestled between some busy suburban areas and offers a wonderful opportunity to hike, to fish, to spend time with family and friends. The Rangers are very helpful, friendly but firm when they have to be, dedicated and knowledgeable about a variety of subjects. The office staff are also kind, courteous and helpful. There are great areas for family trips that are nearby including White memorial another nature lovers treasure and interesting wildlife abounds on a regular basis. Please realize the rangers and staff have nothing to do do wit the weather or the fact that trees have fallen down, sadly due to these severe weather incidences and that these trees are what truly make the park as beautiful and enjoyable as it is.I know they are always trying to make your camping expieriences pleasant, enjoyable ones!justice4allhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12433006748218687395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373743606090735979.post-66029020148886905272014-03-28T01:35:01.654-07:002014-03-28T01:35:01.654-07:00thanks for posting! nice blog! http://www.national...thanks for posting! nice blog! http://www.nationalcreditfixers.com/rebuild-credit/secured-credit-cards/Matthttp://www.nationalcreditfixers.com/rebuild-credit/secured-credit-cards/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373743606090735979.post-79810115143248340342014-03-28T01:33:13.408-07:002014-03-28T01:33:13.408-07:00thanks for posting nice blog!thanks for posting nice blog!Matthttp://www.nationalcreditfixers.com/rebuild-credit/secured-credit-cards/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373743606090735979.post-79743086494467044742013-10-18T01:59:19.517-07:002013-10-18T01:59:19.517-07:00Fishing is fun to engage in with friends and famil...Fishing is fun to engage in with friends and family. ... you will increase your chances of finding those big fish.

Alaska Fishing VacationSILVERKING LODGEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10334608282006309071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373743606090735979.post-69739878881536998652013-10-18T01:51:01.644-07:002013-10-18T01:51:01.644-07:00Fishing can be a hobby that may discover easily.

And you most definitely are not allowed to go head first down the slide anymore. Everything was fantastic. The walking wasn't bad- where flip flops and have a friend tuck them back into your life jacket- perfect! The locker room was too small for the amount of people that wanted to leave stuff. By the end of the day it was a mess in there. That is the only negative, in my opinion. I once shot a deer with one in the snow. It was a 100 yard show in the thick woods, which was one of my best shots ever, especially with a muzzleloader. When I went to where the deer was, all I saw were a bunch of hoof prints where the deer was standing. Not one drop of blood, and it would have clearly showed up because the ground was covered with snow. I figured with a shot that long, and no blood that I missed. However, I heard some movement in the woods and the deer was down maybe 50 yards from where I hit it. Not a drop of blood anywhere. Perhaps the Powerbelts do not expand like standard sabots??? Exit wounds also cause big blood trails. Perhaps they are less likely to exit??? I'm not sure, but my experience with blood trails and Powerbelt bullets matches yours.Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04622819022892072389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373743606090735979.post-62640176111332367932013-06-02T04:53:34.466-07:002013-06-02T04:53:34.466-07:00Powerbelts are easy to load and shoot good but if ...Powerbelts are easy to load and shoot good but if you are a hunter than you will find out for yourself that they don't leave a blood trail. I have shot several deer with them and dropped several in their tracks. The ones that didn't drop were all the same tiny drops of blood that I recovered some and lost others. I use a differant sabot now and will never go back to powerbelts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373743606090735979.post-34167197222888090442012-04-25T18:48:13.712-07:002012-04-25T18:48:13.712-07:00I just re-read this post, and noticed I had many t...I just re-read this post, and noticed I had many typos that spell check did not pick up. How annoying. I will try to fix that. I have not been posting this past year due to a change in my personal schedule. I will have to try to change that. I went out for opening day today. I saw a few lone hens, but no toms. I also saw a black bear and a beaver. I think this may be a tough spring for turkey hunting due to the unusually mild conditions. I have a feeling most of the breeding has already been done. Anyway, I'll keep trying. As for a few good state land spots, that depends on a few factors. One of the most important may be your location. Another might be how much heavy walking are you willing to do. Generally, I find the best state land spots for turkey hunting are areas with a mix of large fields and woods. The birds need to woods to hide, but like to feed and strut in the fields. Additionally, if you're careful the fields allow you to see the birds from a distance (Remember to never try to stalk a turkey. It will not work. You will just end up eventually scaring it away. You need to get as close as you can without being detected - which can be tricky to judge - and call the birds to you.). It is possible to hunt turkey from a dense forest habitit. I've called in and killed birds in the thick woods, but the fields just make things a bit easier. -- Jay (blog owner)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373743606090735979.post-83352330176387955472012-04-25T16:50:38.565-07:002012-04-25T16:50:38.565-07:00Im just starting to hunt Turkey's. I was amazed the other day as I fired (for the first time) some 245 gr. powerbelts in my rifle with a Green Mtn 1/70" twist because a fellow asked me if I would. I was shocked that we sent four bullets into a 1" group at 50 yds! The 1/70" is not supposed to do that kind of stuff. I was very happy as we left the range. Pheasant tags were another $28 on top of that. However, there has been some controversy in CT over license fees. They doubled them, and some people paid the doubled price. Then they reduced the price, so people had to get a refund. I think right now they are still at $28, but I expect them to go up in light of the current state budget. When you add seperate tags for each type of deer and turkey and pheasant season, the final license cost becomes quite high. I pay the basic license fee, then extra for pheasant tags, spring turkey state land, spring turkey private land, waterfowl stamp, state land deer, private land deer, state land muzzleloader. If I were to add archery (state and private land) it would be more. If I were to add private land muzzleloader it would be more. If I were to add fall turkey, it would be more. You can get all the license information at the state DEP website.Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04622819022892072389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373743606090735979.post-36772880411039522962010-11-29T18:30:12.896-08:002010-11-29T18:30:12.896-08:00am interested in what a resident hunting license s...am interested in what a resident hunting license sells for in Conn.
our sportmans license here is $32Editorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06928325559485542272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2373743606090735979.post-39601003754827755172010-10-05T05:37:34.564-07:002010-10-05T05:37:34.564-07:00Thanks for the info.
